About Us
Quest Orchids was founded in 1983 by Yolanda and Segundo Cuesta.
They began growing/collecting orchids around the early 80’s. The Cattleya alliance and their relatives were considered their favorites. In a very short amount of time, their passion for orchids would eventually lead them to starting up Quest Orchids.
By the late 80’s, Yolanda and Segundo decided to start up a hybridizing program, with a goal in creating outstanding compact Cattleyas – in particular, art-shade tones. As the business rapidly expanded, space became an issue. Thus, a new location was needed.
By 1994, we opened our doors to our new/current location, in Horse County, dedicated entirely to orchids. Originally starting out with just two 30’ x 100’ greenhouses. We have since expanded to a total of 5 greenhouses. We’re also in the process of developing an in-house laboratory, not only for our consistently expanding Cattleya hybrid program, but also for meristem tissue cloning.
Here at Quest Orchids, we enjoy sharing our plants and orchid knowledge with our customers, many of whom have become close friends. So please, feel free to stop by our sales booth or visit us at our greenhouses to enjoy the "unique" orchid experience.
We welcome visitors to our greenhouses, Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some holiday or seasonal hours apply so please call ahead. If you cannot visit us in person, we hope you will visit us online, call us, write or e-mail your questions about our orchids, pricing or other matters.
