Grammatophyllum wallisii is a warm spieces native to the Philippines. This species is a form of Grammatophyllum speciosum and has very similar growing habits and flowers. It blooms from fall to summer on an upright spike that slightly fragrant flowers that are about 3 l/2" in diameter (the above picture shows you a similar flower). Flowers are long-lasting (about 8-10 weeks) and are quite beautiful. This species requires direct sunlight and intermediate to warm temperature. Plants can tolerate up to 100 degrees (but like it humid) and as low as 45 degrees. They are very vigorous growers and prolific bloomers and should double in size within a year.
